Internship / Fieldwork Opportunity
Golden West College Transfer and Career Center is pleased to offer internship opportunities to individuals in fulfillment of their educational and degree requirements. Ideal candidates will be available during normal business hours (Monday- Thursday, 8:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m., and Friday 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m, with occasional weekend assignments as needed).
Interns are asked to commit to one year (Fall 2019 and Spring 2020 semesters) and will be cross-trained in the Transfer Center, Career Center, General Counseling, and Counseling Instruction/Teaching. Opportunities in Spring 2020 for participation in college outreach and promotions representing the Transfer and Career centers, teaching internships, and placement in other specialized programs such as DSP/S, Student Life / Leadership, and student retention initiatives may also be included.
Internships are unpaid, however, should opportunities arise for paid experiences, they will be offered to those qualified based on experience, knowledge, and scheduling.

When completing the application, interested candidates should indicate “GWC Transfer Center” in the Preferences field.

· Cover letter (please discuss learning goals and objectives for internship)
· Resume
· One letter of recommendation from a graduate professor
· Unofficial Transcripts from all schools attended.
Applications should be submitted by the close of day on Friday May 10, 2019.
Candidates should be available Friday, May 24, 2019 for a brief interview on campus. Final placement will be confirmed by July 1, 2019. Intern hours begin in the August with a two-day training on August 7 – 8, and full internships begin August 26, 2019, the start of our Fall semester.
