The UC Irvine Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences Student Affairs Office is seeking a graduate student intern to perform fieldwork hours in our advising office during the 2018-19 academic year. Someone interested in STEM advising is ideal, but not required. The hours can be flexible depending on your schedule and hour needs, but will generally occur between 9:00a-4:00p on weekdays, with occasional evening and weekend activities. The anticipated start date for the Fall Quarter will be approximately mid-September. This position is unpaid.
Duties will include:
Supervised and unsupervised walk-in advising of undergraduate students
Updating DegreeWorks – UCI’s degree management system
Assisting with undergraduate and graduate student retention programming and events
Assisting with PharmSci Student Affairs courses (Intro to PharmSci, Commuter Connection, Transfer Track, and Special Topics in PharmSci)
Developing a tracking system for special populations (first gen, commuter, transfer, etc.)
Assisting with undergraduate recruitment events
Assisting with graduate admissions processing and recruitment events
